Pensacola, Florida (May 15, 2016) – For most people, reaching your 50th birthday is a milestone. Diane Lea’s dream is for her 50th birthday to be more about giving than receiving. In an effort to mark the occasion, Diane will be riding her bicycle across the country to promote awareness and encourage action for a specific cause each of the 50 days.
Diane’s 2,500-mile journey begins June 18, 2016, in San Diego, CA and ends approximately mid-August back home in Pensacola, FL, bringing an opportunity each day to make a difference and enrich the lives of others.
Diane, who grew up in Pace, FL, began her effort more than two years ago when she started assessing her life and how it is connected with others. “I am touched deeply by the stories of so many people who have been affected by illness and tragedy. Often even the simplest tasks of everyday living can become an obstacle to others and challenge the most courageous of people,’’ Diane says. “This ride is my way of ‘giving back’ and showing my concern.”
|Among the 50 Causes spotlighted by the cross country ride are:|
